Project Introduction
Construction of Overseas Memorial Sculpture
This project seeks to create a space to console and pay tribute to the victims who were forcibly mobilized to battlefields by imperial Japan during their occupation and for their bereaved families.
Memorial sculptures are under construction mostly at the battlefields in South Pacific, Southeast Asia, and Hokkaido (Japan), as well as places where there were massive sacrifices of Koreans.
The construction of the memorial sculptures aims to raise accurate historical awareness of the forced mobilization for the bereaved family visitors, all Korean people including local Koreans, and native populations.
